Working on a tight timeline to transform a pair of schools’ outdoor space, from playground to parking lot.
Summary
Abbey partnered with a pair of Riverside, IL schools—Central Elementary and Hauser Jr. High—for a complete site improvement. This multi-faceted project included removing the existing parking lot, restoring the landscape, and installing a number of features: an underground storm system, a playground, permeable pavements, and more.
Of course, timing was everything, and most of the work had to be done over the schools’ summer break. Leveraging decades of experience and relationships with trusted trade partners, Abbey completed this complex project on-time, safely, and with excellent quality.
Project Scope
- Complete site improvement.
- Removal of existing parking lot.
- Installation of underground storm system and storm trap.
- Installation of aesthetically pleasing hardscape, playground, and sports courts.
- Installation of permeable pavements, including pavers and concrete, to allow for effective site drainage.
